Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidhyalaya is established in August 2004 by Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidhya Prasarak Samaj, Ahmednagar. The college is permanently non-grant and affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The Main aim to establish the college in an area like Deolali Pravara is to provide higher education to the student from rural area. The facility to enroll in faculty like computer science, science, B.C.A and Arts opens the gates of many job opportunities to them. It is noticeable that our college was the first college to provide courses in computer science and B.C.A. in Rahuri tahashil.

About Institution
Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Ahmednagar, the parent institute was established in 1918 with an objective of imparting quality education especially to the economically and socially weaker sections of the society in the district of Ahmednagar. It is a public trust, registered under the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act, 1953. It has substantially contributed to the educational and social developments so far and will continue to do so in future catering to the needs of the changing times. Over the years, it has grown into a family of more than hundred educational institutions from pre-primary education to higher professional education. It is managed by a team of dedicated social workers. During the period of about hundred years, its development has been consistent to its motto “Tejo Si Tejo Me Dehi”
History
Chatrapati Rajashri Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, the Son of Late Karveer Hutamata Chatrapati Chauthe Shivaji Maharaj, was a source of inspiration to the “Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj” which was established in 1918. The institution runs 7 Senior Colleges, one Engineering College, one Law College, one college of Physical Education, one Hotel Management Institute, 20 Junior Colleges, 45 High-Schools and one Primary School. The main object of the institution is to impart education to the economically backward, downtrodden and weaker sections of the society irrespective of the caste, creed, sex and religion. The growth of the institution during the past 90 years is noteworthy with its motto “Tejo Si Tejo Me Dehi”.
Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Deolali Pravara was established in August 2004 by this institution. The main purpose behind these is to provide higher education to the student of Deolali Pravara and surrounding villages. It is situated in a village about 50 kms away from Ahmednagar, 105 kms from Aurangabad and 175 kms from Pune. The college is a multi faculty college with many programmes at the under graduate and the post graduate levels. The college is affiliated to the University of Pune. The range of the programmes, options available to the students are B.A.(Politics, Hindi, Geography), B.Sc.Chemistry, B.Sc.(Computer Science), B.B.A.(CA), M.Sc.(Computer Science).
The college has campus admeasuring twelve acres with specious buildings containing adequate facilities. The college also provides residential facilities to the students. In addition to this, the college runs courses in arts, commerce and science faculty at junior (+2) level which are aided by the State Government of Maharashtra.
Besides this the college also runs courses like Horticulture, Office Management and Medical Laboratory Technician Course under minimum competency vocational course pattern and the same are aided by the Central Government of India. It is a matter of great pride that the institution provided higher education to the rural students in the past when there was no college in ShevgaonTahasil. The college started with 83 students in 1978 and at present the total enrollment is 1064 at senior college level and 898 at the junior college level.
The main object of the college is to make all-round development of students and make them responsible citizens to lead our country to the globalised world with dignity and honour.
